J.C. Bach's Concerto in c minor, originally composed for 'cello, is remarkably effective in transcription for bass clarinet with piano accompaniment. A son of the great Baroque composer J.S. Bach, Johann Christian (1735-1782) was known as one of the most versatile and prolific composers of the early Classical period, and an important influence on Mozart.
This three movement work offers the serious student excellent challenges in range and expression, and makes a fine addition to the recital or contest repertoire.
